Entrepreneur Bootcamp Class 1
Session one begins with a welcome from city and county officials highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship to the local economy. Participants are introduced to the Business Model Canvas and key program topics, including value proposition, customer segments, channels, revenue streams, costs, key partners, activities, and resources.
The session also covers the Business Plan Competition and the pre-pitch go/no-go discussion, helping participants realistically assess their ideas and market potential. This includes evaluating demand, competition, funding feasibility, and whether an idea is a viable business or better suited as a hobby.
Common startup mistakes are reviewed, with a focus on building something customers actually want. A guest speaker introduces customer interview strategies based on The Mom Test to help participants validate their ideas.
Participants will also submit their business idea or current business name, confirm their NAICS code, and identify their industry classification, laying the groundwork for future market research.
